Summary
Reporting carried out amongst the Sakuddei's tribe, a group of seven animistic families settled along the banks of a river in the jungle of Siberut, the largest island of the Mentawai archipelago, situated in the Indian ocean, 150 km far from the Western coast of Sumatra, in the Indonesian territory. The island is 130 km long and 30 km wide with a population of 16 thousands inhabitants.
This archipelago is one of the few places in the world where time has stopped. The civilisation of these people is extremely archaic and amongst the most unknown. Foreign cultural influences have never greatly affected the culture of these islands probably because of their isolation.
